Dr.
Ronald D. Miles is an author, lecturer, educational consultant,
and licensed professional counselor. With over thirty-three years
experience in educational arenas, he has served as a classroom
teacher, school counselor, district program administrator, and
university instructor. Dr. Miles retired as Director of Guidance
and Counseling Services for Richland County School District One
in Columbia, South Carolina in June 2001. During his tenure,
the district’s program was recognized as one of ten exemplary
school counseling programs in America. Currently Dr. Miles serves
as an adjunct professor for several South Carolina colleges and
universities and as an external consultant for the South Carolina
Department of Education. In addition, he is also the instructor
for several national training programs for educators.
Dr Miles has been recognized as “National School Counseling
Administrator of the Year”, “South Carolina Counselor
of the Year”, “South Carolina P.T.A. Teacher of the
Year”, and as “South Carolina Elementary School Counselor
of the Year”. He is also the recipient of The Christa McAuliffe
Research Award for exemplary school counseling program development.
