Dr. Jim Rex recently retired as president of Columbia College in Columbia, South Carolina. Prior to that he was the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at the University of South Carolina, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Coastal Carolina University, and the Dean of Education at Winthrop University and at Coastal Carolina University. Jim was also on the faculty of the University of Toledo and taught high school English and coached varsity football in Ohio. Jim and his wife, Sue, remain committed to the improvement of teaching and learning for every student in America's schools and to the unique contribution our schools continue to make to the American Dream of equal opportunity for all.
